This Wednesday is a little more personal for me, so I hope you all enjoy it!
I have absolutely loved every second of writing here so far and my wish for today is that it can continue to stay this way. I know sometimes life can get busy and things forgotten, but I am hoping that I will always have this blog to not only discuss books but also to make great connections with people who share my passion.
I know so far you guys don’t know a whole lot about me so I thought I would spend today talking about my hopes and dreams in life.
I love books. I love books so much that I try to spend every free second reading and talking about them. I love books so much that I gave up being a teacher so that I could share my love and help people of all ages find books to ignite their passion for them as well. I want everyone to know that not everyone will enjoy every book, but there is a book for everyone.
I am getting married! Yes, I know, I must be older than everyone thought I was and that is totally okay! I am a twenty something adult that has a great love for teen fiction. Don’t get me wrong, I read ‘adult’ books too, they just don’t grab my attention like teen books do. My soon-to-be husband is amazingly supportive and I don’t know what I would do without him. We not-so recently moved across the province away from all of our friends and family so that we could try to make better lives for ourselves. I have so much respect for him and for how much we have grown together since this move and we will be saying our vows in Feb 2015!
If you haven’t noticed by my spelling of certain words (favour, neighbour etc.) I am Canadian. This doesn’t really have much to do about my wishes for the future but I am passionate about being Canadian. I enjoy this comic because of the Habs jersey, however, I am a Toronto Maple Leafs fan! I love hockey and spend a fair bit of my time watching OHL (Ontario Hockey League) games whenever I can. You will notice that I talk a lot about release dates or hardcover editions that are not available where you are residing. Let me know if you can’t find a copy of a book we’ve talked about though, I will do my best to help you!
I have a sad obsession with Disney. I’m not talking about running around singing Frozen all day, I’m talking classic Disney. I collect all the old movies in DVD and Blu-Ray form so that one day my future children can enjoy them the same way I did as a child. I love going to Disney World (I have not been to Disneyland yet) and am hoping to return one day soon, you are never too old!
I would love to travel. I am at a crossroads in my life where I am supposed to be making good life decisions and starting a career but all I REALLY want to do is travel the world and be irresponsible. I know I would never actually do it, the thought of packing all my bags and abandoning all responsibilities is totally unrealistic. Like most people, I can’t actually afford to travel (especially with my upcoming nuptials) but in my head I will always know (and maybe even regret) that I have never done any real travelling. I have never been west of Ontario and never been east of Quebec. I have driven to Florida though, so I have experienced most of the states on the east side. The two places I would love to travel to 1. Australia, anywhere in Australia really! I am not that picky! 2. The South of France. Don’t get me wrong, Paris would be great, but I’ve dreamed of that wine country since before I was legal drinking age. Fancy cheese and a glass of wine on the beautiful french countryside is a goal of mine.
I think that is all that I have today. I would love to hear about you guys! Where are you from? What do you wish for? Have you traveled, tell me where I should go! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday and I can’t wait to see what you all have to say 🙂
