Family Friday | Holiday Traditions

I know today is supposed to be all about the ladies but I am still full of Holiday Cheer. This was my first Holiday actually relaxing, normally I am all about the hustle and bustle of spending time with family and friends. In one way I missed it, the inevitable family food fight and family drama. In another way I found it so wonderful just to relax in my home (which I don’t really get to do that often) we did the usual family functions, just on different days this year which I really enjoyed.

The holidays are suppose to be about spending time with your family and friends but it is also the most stressful time of year, the time where fights start and money gets tight (too many presents purchased) so is it wrong that I enjoyed having one day alone?

My family, although large and always together, doesn’t really have any traditions. No sing-a-longs and no movie watching. I sometimes wonder what it would be like to have family traditions like that. We always have a meal together though. Sometimes turkey, sometimes ham, but the meal always has mashed potatoes, my favourite. I think it has changed a lot because all us “kids” are older now, moving in with our significant others and some even having kids of their own. Traditions passed down, and stories being told as if it all happened a long time ago.

Do you have a favourite tradition or family Christmas story?

Have something to say?
