Wishlist Wednesday | The Movie Versions

So, I was thinking the other day about how excited I am to see the movie “DUFF”. I am almost finished the book and the trailer looks hilarious! This really got me thinking … there are a lot of book movies coming out that I can’t wait to watch.

– Miss Peregrine’s home for peculiar children (Ransom Riggs)

– Obsidian (Jennifer Armentrout)

– Fallen (Lauren Kate)

– Paper Towns (John Green)

Some of these I will need to wait until 2016 for, but I don’t think I have ever been this excited for a list of movies before! I don’t usually watch movies, I have my favourites that I watch over and over but it is rare that I go out to the cinema or even rent a movie. This is especially weird in the pirate world we live in, you can get almost any movie before it is released and watch it in the comfort of your own home and here I am, still not having seen even the biggest blockbusters.

I generally blame this on my lack of time but really it is my lack of interest. Why would I watch a movie that is not nearly as creative or original as the book that I have sitting on the table (especially when I’ve already read most of the books).

So why the excitement for these book to movie adaptations? Because I LOVED THE BOOKS obviously! To go even a little deeper, I like to see the movies epically fail. I mean, it is inevitable. You can’t take a books detail and condense it down to a third of the size/length and expect it to go over well with the masses. It is the kind of thing that you don’t want to watch but you just can’t seem to turn away.

In all seriousness though, I really hope these succeed and I cannot wait for them to come out. What book to movie adaptation are you waiting for?

Have something to say?
